ESAMI MBA IN TRANSPORT ECONOMICS AND LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT

ESAMI has been in the forefront of assisting African countries to enhance their capacity to effectively manage the transport sector. In fact when the Institute was founded in 1974, the first training programmes conducted were for thetransport sector.

These programmes were targeted at 3 levels ‚policy makers, middle managers and operational staff.

A market survey and needs assessment highlighted demand for a long term course in Masters in Business administration specializing in Transport Economics and Logistics Management. This programme is therefore ESAMI's response to the felt needs of our clients.

This Specialized MBA is modelled on the highly successful ESAMI Executive MBA which has been running since 1999.As with the on-going Executive MBA, our graduates will acquire the following distinguishing qualities:

A highly developed global mindset with a grasp of international management ssues with a regional and local focus.

Ability to think critically, strategically and independently

Enhanced quest for practical innovations and creativity in business management

      Ability to manage diversity

Ability to initiate change and maintain a competitive edge and

      An entrepreneurial and innovative ability.

WHY ESAMI MBA IN TRANSPORT ECONOMICS AN D LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT

Many African countries have invested upwards 40% of their budgets in the transport sector.  Transport and Infrastructure have been identified as important prerequisite to enhancing social and economic development.

Indeed Africa‚own blueprint for development ‚the New Partnership for Africa‚Development (NEPAD) has recognized the importance of a well functioning transport sector.

ESAMI is aware that without a critical mass of trained staff in the transport sector, its operational performance will remain poor.

There are three (3) important factors which distinguish the ESAMI MBA in Transport Economics and Logistics Management from others.

Firstly, given their busy schedule, these managers cannot afford to be away from their work places for up to two years to attend a full time Masters Degree progamme overseas.By offering a schedule which combines work with education, the ESAMI MBA in Transport Economics and Logistics Management gives the Executive an opportunity to work and still study and qualify for a degree.

Secondly, the ESAMI MBA in Transport Economics and Logistics Management has all the ingredients of the Masters programmes in Transport currently being offered overseas.Over and above that, this programme has included courses which are of immediate relevance and applicability to Africa. These include Rural Travel and Transport Planning, Road Traffic Safety Planning and Management and Gender Issues in Transport.

Thirdly, the ESAMI MBA in Transport Economics and Logistics Management enables the student to combine learning in both developing and developed worlds. Our students will undertake a 2- week overseas tour as part of the programme. They will also be able to visit a number of transport and logistics enterprises and have the benefit of exchanging experiences with their counterparts.

I, therefore, urge you to seize this opportunity and enroll on this specialized MBA prorogramme which is the first one of its kind in Africa.

      Evening Class

      THE ESAMI EVENING CLASS MBA

ESAMI evening class MBA programme draws on the unique experiences that the Institute has acquired in running a face ,face day MBA training programme based on a block release part time that was inaugurated in 1999. Since then the school has grown from 29 students to over 700 students admitted into the Masters programme per year. Over 1000 executives have since graduated. From ESAMI‚experiences in management training, research and consulting in Africa, some managers cannot afford to be away from their position for 14 days in every 3 months. These experiences have made ESAMI to offer an evening class MBA programme that enables practising managers to combine work and studies. The evening class MBA engenders graduating executives with the following qualities:

Developed global mindset which allows understanding of international management

      issues with a regional and local focus;
