      Certificate in Management and Administration (CMA)

      Certificate in Management and Administration (CMA)The programme targets workers without basic management training as well as workers with certificates from technical fields like Agriculture, Engineering, Wildlife, Nursing, Teaching, etc wishing to pursue management training.

      ESAMI has, over the years provided management training short courses to participants drawn from various sectors in the ESAMI service region. These have been non-examinable short courses in various aspect of management as requested. It was observed that there are a number of Secondary School leavers in the market; some are employed but others are looking for job opportunities. All have not received formal training in Management and Administration at Technical level, needed for messenger or junior clerical positions. This examinable Certificate in Management and Administration will consolidate the different courses into specific competences in Management that have been identified for Administrative technicians in both Public and Private sectors.

      Specific objectives

      By the end of the CMA programme, graduate will be able to:

      i. Perform basic functions of the human resources department that pertain to technicians or clerks

      ii. Perform basic payroll calculations such as calculations of gross wages and salaries, various deductions and net wages and salaries

      iii. Retrieve personal files, sort them out and file them in the respective folders

      iv. Enter personnel data in the right files of staff

      v. Apply computer to process wages and salaries of staff

      vi. Perform basic office procedures and routines

      vii. Communicate human resources information to staff within the organisation

      viii. Write basic reports on personnel and other office activities as required
