Inauguration of ESAMI complex in Kampala, Uganda

MANAGEMENT TRAINING - AN IMPERATIVE IN AFRICA

These were the words of wisdom by HE. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda when he officially opened the ESAMI House in Kampala on Saturday 21st March, 2009.

In a speech read on his behalf by the Second Deputy Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Eriya Kategeya, also Minister for Regional Affairs, the President commended ESAMI for its decision to build a home in Uganda.

I am happy to be here on the occasion of opening the ESAMI building. I wish to thank the Director General, Prof. Bonard Mwape for his kind invitation and applaud him and the entire Board for this good work. ESAMI has demonstrated good management by raising their own funds to finance this magnificent project added the President.

ESAMI, 29 YEARS ON

Summary:

The Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI), is still a leader in the education sector in Sub-Saharan Africa. Since its establishment in 1980, ESAMI has continued to grow from strength to strength. It was started as a management institute for the Eastern and Southern African region. Over the years it has grown to attract clients from West African countries such as Ghana, Nigeria, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Cameroon as well as from Asia notably Bangladesh, India and Pakistan. Over 30,000 middle and top level personnel in Government, parastatals, NGOs and private sector organisations have attended management development programmes offered here.
